No awesome bar is complete without a cool cocktail shaker. Remember the famous line, “Shaken, not stirred.” Build a menu of fabulous old-school drinks and entertain your guests with a gorgeous silver or retro cocktail shaker.

I’ve got a fantastic way to create a wonderful wedding gift. I bought my friends a set of the silver flatware from their registry and then went to Etsy and picked up an antique flatware chest. It was so gorgeous, made of solid wood and lined with a beautiful burgundy felt. The silver flatware looked gorgeous up against it. The unique flatware chest made for a one-of-a-kind gift that they could use right away.

I’m tired of putting glasses of beer and wine in my old Igloo cooler every time I have friends over. Yes, it’s efficient, and fine for a casual summer barbecue, but I’m looking for something nicer. There are so many to choose from though. I can’t decide what will work with more occasions. Should I go with glass, wood, copper, silver? Where do I start? Please help me choose a wine bucket.

The institution of marriage has been kind to the makers of tabletop furnishings. Invariably the gift registries are requests for place settings, glass sets, silverware, and serving dishes. But – the busy single professional can purchase their own tabletop furnishings. And it can be a great pleasure to do so. The newlyweds may want the fine English china, but you can elect to get the oversized pasta bowls and geometric champagne flutes. On the other hand, the teetotaler may spec some fine crystal Pilsner glasses, but you, the beer drinker, can opt for some serious heavy duty clinking mugs. So all is not lost. The day you decide to buy, clear out the cupboards. The coffee mug the sales rep gave you 10 years ago can really go.
