We don’t have air conditioning, and a window fan saved us this summer. You just set it in the window, adjust it so it stays in place and leave it. Ours had a thermostat on it, so it would stay on (blowing hot air out during the day and pulling cool air in at night) until the temperature was perfect.

I’m in the market for a new washer and dryer and there are so many choices. I like the look of a front-load machine, but they’re so much more expensive. Do they really do a better job? Guess I’ve got a lot of researching to do.

OK, the whole idea of drying my clothes outdoors has totally lost its appeal (maybe I’ll get the desire back in the summer, but I don’t know.) I still have a washing machine, but I have to buy a dryer, and soon!
