In the age of electronic everything, it\'s nice to put together an old-fashioned work space. A solid maple desk, complete with a desk set and old-style journal.
There's just no replicating the patina of a true old world house. Whether it's weathered shingles or mottled stone, nature has marked it with originality that can't be manufactured. Not so true with furnishings, however. For that, there are exceptional knock offs.
Much better use of milk crates than just using them as storage containers. The claw footings on these make an interesting swizzle of classic meets dorm meets design. Very creative. These could work very well in a media room, kids room, home office or even the kitchen.

Home offices are quickly becoming the everyday workplace for millions. Technology has freed us from the confines of reporting to a central office, so making your home office comfortable and efficient has never been so important. And certainly the most consequential furnishing is the chair. You can work on a table, but if your chair isn’t right – nothing is. Since the introduction of the Aeron chair from Herman Miller in the 90’s, there has been a rush by manufacturers to one-up this jewel. So you’re sure to find something good. Don’t let your house dictate too much the desk you choose. Make sure you have enough space and storage – and that you like seeing it often!
