So little room in our tiny bathroom. We cut through the wall and created stud-to-stud shelving. Finished it nicely with trim work and paint and it looks fantastic. Finally, some more storage space!!

My mother’s bathroom was falling apart and she didn’t have the money for a full remodel. We had the old, broken tiles removed from around the tub and had it all replaced with a one-piece premade surround. The tub walls now are all solid, molded plastic and it’s been fantastic for her. It was so much more affordable too.

Never thought I’d want a bed skirt in a boy’s room. Seems like it’d be too frilly. Then I discovered that having one meant that my son could keep all sorts of stuff stored away under his bed and I didn’t have to see it every time I passed by his room!

Sleep, bathe, dress, eat, work, eat, relax, sleep. Perhaps up to half your day might be spent in the quarters of your bed and bath. Particularly if yours happens to include a television and/or computer. So – focusing on the things that make this private space inviting is worth the effort. First and foremost – get a super comfortable bed. That means a great mattress and a headboard you can lean against. If you have the space, a comfortable chair and ottoman is wonderful. A reasonably sized flat screen for zoning out is nice. A good reading light that is discreet so as not to disturb your partner. And then… enter the bath. Walk in shower, soaking tub, dual flush toilet, double vanity, heated floor. Is that really so much to ask?
